Carly’s Story
When I first came to Karis House, my mental health was in a really bad place. I’d already tried everything I could through the NHS but I’d reached a point where nothing seemed to be working.
My time at Karis House helped me work on everything I was dealing with. From the start, I felt accepted for who I was. The staff really saw the potential in me and never stopped encouraging me to reach for it.
It transformed my life and made me the person I am today – a paramedic, a business owner and a 2x Marathon finisher.
Karis House has truly changed my life.

A word from Jenny, Founder of Karis House
Karis House started because there was a need. I saw it in some of the young people that I worked with in the church and those we supported in the wider community.
A need to belong, to be listened to and accepted for who they were, a place where they felt safe and valued.
I didn’t want anybody else to have to fight as hard as I did to learn to function and be happy with who they are, so I created that place to help young women transform their lives.
That is our key purpose.
If you think Karis House sounds like the right place for you to continue after your recovery, read some of our past residents’ testimonies and be inspired to reach out. We look forward to hearing from you.
